I.  
CALL TO ORDER  
The meeting was called to order by Ald. Bonne at 5:38 p.m.  
The invocation was offered by Ald. Torina  
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.  
Mayor McNamara presented a Proclamation to the Irish Marching Society.  
Mayor McNamara announced that the Chicago Storm Special Hockey Team was present, and that they  
had just arrived back in town from Toronto, Canada where they were in a competition and were  
undefeated. The Mayor further explained that this team provides children and adults with developmental  
disabilities an opportunity to play hockey. The team was congratulated and each team member was  
presented with a challenge coin.  
Mayor McNamara announced that sadly Suni Puri recently passed away. He spoke about Mr. Puri's  
contributions to the City of Rockford, and asked for a moment of silence in remembrance of him.  
PUBLIC SPEAKERS:  
1. Erica Reed spoke about the contributions that were made by former Presidents Carter and Regan  
concerning domestic violence. She also spoke about the importance of mental health, and the need for  
more support for domestic violence.  
2. Norma Joseph spoke on behalf of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Iota Upsilon Sigma Chapter  
regarding the 4th annual Swim Clinic that will be held on July 11th from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Aquatic  
Pool, which is located at 910 Acorn Street. She noted that sponsorships or donations will be greatly  
appreciated.  
3. Prophet Yusef quoted scripture, and spoke about the importance of Women's Month.  
4. Denzil Wynter spoke about the importance of Women's Month, and he talked about the important  
women in his life.  
5. John Tac Brantley spoke about Rev. Jesse Jackson, and his legacy. Mr. Brantley also spoke about  
racism.

RESOLUTIONS  
Memorial Day Parade  
1.  
This event is scheduled for May 25th from 8 a.m. - Noon. Organizers request City  
support for Police, Fire, and traffic control assistance. Organizers anticipate costs similar  
to 2025 event (approximately $17,000).  
The parade will step off at 9 a.m., and the route will begin at 7th Street and 5th Avenue  
ending at Memorial Hall on Wyman Street.  
A motion was made by Bell, seconded by Alderman Wilkins, that this Resolution be  
Approved by committee to the City Council.

This event is scheduled for the following dates:  
April 4th, May 2nd, June 6th, July 4th, August 1st, September 5th, and October 3rd from  
9 a.m. - Noon.  
The event will take place on 7th Street between 3rd Avenue and 6th Avenue; and on 3rd  
Avenue and 4th Avenue between 6th Street and 7th Street.  
A motion was made by Alderman Wilkins, seconded by Bell, that this Resolution be  
Approved by committee to the City Council.
